Where I’m Going

Writing in front of the fire on this chilly Colorado evening makes me happy it’s winter. And since I’m generally a warm weather girl, that is a very good thing.

This will be a quick post to update all those not in my immediate circle on my next stops for 2012. I am thrilled with what the next year is bringing, mostly because it includes both Canyonlands and Mesa Verde. In less than two weeks I’ll be headed back to that beautiful Island in the Sky to move into an ancient trailer in an even more ancient place. I’m thrilled! The only downside is I’ll be volunteering, which means a slight costume change and a smaller paycheck. But you do what you have to do to get where you want to be. And ISKY is where I want to be.

Then in June I’ll pack up again and move out to southwest Colorado for another season playing in the ruins of the Ancestral Puebloans at Mesa Verde. I am beyond thrilled to return to my MEVE family and continue learning about this beautiful place, and even happier to be paid to do it!

That will fill my calendar until November, when hopefully some new adventures will make themselves known.

I’m feeling content that I’m going where I am, even if it may not be in the way I initially had hoped. But if there’s anything I’ve learned since I started this blog it’s that life rarely goes the way you hope, but with a little push it gets you to the places you need to be.

And that’s where I’m going.

Where I am
