Day 5 of the government shutdown started just the same as the other 4: absolutely, 100% beautiful.

The temperature has been cool and crisp, the sun has been shining, and the fall foliage is reaching its peak here at Mesa Verde National Park. As I drove out the road this morning I thought to myself – not for the first time – what a shame it is that the entrance is closed for visitors to enjoy it all.

Write to your congressmen people. It’s way too beautiful out to keep this all to myself.
